Is Kashmir safe for tourists and families right now? +

Absolutely. Kashmir is one of the safest tourist destinations in India, hosting millions of travelers every year without hassle. Major tourist hubs like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonmarg are very peaceful and family-friendly. The locals are known for their warm hospitality (Kashmiriyat) and go out of their way to make guests feel at home.

Will my prepaid mobile SIM work in Kashmir? +

No, due to government regulations, Prepaid SIM cards issued in other states do not work in Jammu & Kashmir. Only Post paid connections (Jio, Airtel, BSNL) work here. If you don't have a post paid SIM, don't worry you can easily buy a local tourist SIM card upon arrival, or use the Wi-Fi available at our hotels and houseboats.

What is the best time to visit Kashmir for snow? +

If you want to witness a winter wonderland and enjoy snowfall, the best time to visit is from late December to mid-March. For snow activities like skiing and the Gondola ride in Gulmarg, January and February are the peak months.

Do we need to carry heavy woollens throughout the year +

It depends on the season.

Winter (Nov-Mar): Yes, heavy woolens, jackets, gloves, and thermals are a must.

Summer (Apr-Jun): Light cotton clothes are fine for the day, but carry a light jacket as evenings can still get chilly, especially in Pahalgam and Gulmarg.

Is vegetarian food easily available in Kashmir? +

Yes, 100%. While Kashmir is famous for its non-veg Wazwan, all hotels and houseboats serve delicious pure vegetarian food. There are also many exclusive Vaishno Dhabas and pure-veg restaurants in Srinagar and Pahalgam to cater to our guests.

What documents are required for entry at Srinagar Airport? +

All Indian travelers must carry a valid photo ID proof like an Aadhar Card, Voter ID, or Passport. Please note that PAN Cards are NOT accepted as valid identity proof at the airport or for hotel check-ins.
